Cementation Quality Hits New Records For North China Project Management Departme

South Block Of XX Oilfield Was Developed In The Late 1970s, And Belongs To Lithologic-Structural Oil Deposit. The Oil Deposit Geology Is Complex Structurally, Characterized By Great Lithologic Change, Deeply Buried Deposit And Serious Reservoir Stratum Heterogeneity, Especially With Low Oil Deposit Permeability. After Years Of Injection-Production Operation, The Original Oil-Water Pressure System Of The Block Target Stratum Has Been Damaged, And Abnormal High And Low Pressure Areas Have Been Found On The Plane Inside The Stratum And Between Stratums. The Above Well Conditions Occurred Mainly In Adjusting Wells Which Bring Great Difficulties To The Drilling And Development Of Old Oilfields. At Present Stage, There Are No Good Measures And Methods For Cementation Of HP Water Injection Adjusting Well, Both Domestically And Internationally.

Difficulties During Well Drilling And Well Cementation:

1. It Is Difficult To Realize Effective Stable Pressure During Well Drilling And Well Cementation.

2. The Thick False Filter Cake Formed By Mud System During Well Drilling Is Difficult To Be Effectively Removed, Thus Affecting The Quality Of Cement Loop During Well Cementation.

3. The Gypsum At The Top Of Stratum Brings Risk To Well Drilling And Affects The Annulus Pressure Transmission When Waiting On Cement Setting.

4. The Injected Cement Slurry Shall Have High Channeling Preventing Effect During Oil-Water Layer Well Cementation.

In Order To Solve These Problems, The Leaders Of Oil Production Plant And Well Cementation Company Selected Many Domestic And Foreign Technical Service Providers Of Well Cementation After A Lot Of Researches, But Ultimately Failed To Achieve Ideal Effect.

In Oct. 2014, OMAX North China Project Management Department Cooperated With Oil Production Plant And Well Cementation Company For Overcoming The Above Difficulties. OMAX Company Is Decided To Provide Cement Slurry Materials For Well Cementation Of Well 38-30 And Well 39-45-1 In This Block After Many Technical Communications.

The Project Management Department Feels Stressed About The Long-Standing Problem Of Cementation Of HP Water Injection Adjusting Well In The Industry. But It Also Has Confidence And Impetus To Overcome It. The Project Management Department Actively Collects The Basic Information And Data In This Area, Learns Thoroughly The Characteristics Of This Block And Combines Its Own Technological Advantages To Challenge And Overcome The Problem. After Its Efforts For A Month, Well 38-30 And Well 39-45-1 Were Successfully Completed On Oct. 27, 2014 And Nov. 25, 2014 Respectively. Tested By CBL, The Whole Acoustic Amplitude Of The Two Wells Is Less Than 10%, And The Whole Well Cementation Is Of High Quality. The Two Unique Wells With High Quality In The Block In Recent Five Years Have Been Approved By Many Organizations Including Oil Production Plant, Well Cementation Company And Well Drilling Company.

OMAX Has Accumulated Experiences In This Block After The Successful Application Of The Two Wells. But The Success Does Not Mean Our Highest Level And The End Of Our Work In North China. We Will Confront More New Technical Difficulties And Challenges In Other Blocks There. We Also Believe That North China Project Management Department Is Able To Conquer These Difficulties And Problems With These Efforts And The Support From The Company.
